After two years as Rowing Australia’s Chief Executive Officer Michael Scott will be leaving the organisation after accepting a position as the Chief Executive – High Performance Sport New Zealand.
Rowing Australia’s President Rob Scott said that Michael leaves rowing in good shape after leading, along with the RA Board, significant and purposeful change across the sport, particularly at the elite and pathway level.
“Since the Rio Olympics, Rowing Australia has implemented changes to its high performance and pathways program focused on delivering improved international performances at the Tokyo Olympics and beyond. With our Penrith and Canberra National Training Centres now up and running, the leadership team including our Head Coaches are established to provide our athletes with the best preparation and competition in the lead up to Tokyo.
“On behalf of the Australian Rowing Team, staff and board I would like to wish Michael all the best with his new position. We thank him for his contribution to rowing in Australia.”
Michael Scott said “I would like to acknowledge and thank the RA Board, staff and stakeholders for the support they have provided me during my tenure at Rowing Australia. Significant progress has been made on and off the water and the organisation is better positioned to meet the challenges of the future.”
Michael Scott will continue in his role at Rowing Australia until December 2017 and a replacement will be announced in due course.
