Rowing Australia is responsible for the development, planning, oversight and delivery of the national program of events including the Australian Rowing Championships, Australian Masters Rowing Championships, National Selection events and National Coaches Conference.
Rowing Australia is internationally renowned for its event management capabilities and has in recent years delivered, in partnership with FISA, World Rowing Cup events and the World Rowing Masters Regatta.
The Sydney International Rowing Regatta (SIRR) is Australia’s premier rowing event. Presented in partnership with Destination NSW, the week- long event showcases the best of the best at the Australian Open Rowing Championships, Australian Open Schools Rowing Championships and the prestigious King’s and Queen’s Cups Interstate Regatta. In 2013 and 2014 the SIRR event also featured, in partnership with FISA, the first round of the World Rowing Cup for the respective year.
In 2014, Rowing Australia hosted the annual and international event, the World Rowing Masters Regatta. Over 1,100 masters rowers from around the world descended on Ballarat, Victoria to participate in the four-day event at the 1956 Olympic regatta venue, Lake Wendouree.
The Australian Masters Rowing Championships (AMRC) is an annual event and is hosted by Member Associations on rotational basis. In 2017 Rowing Victoria hosted the AMRC event at Lake Nagambie.
The 2018 AMRC will be held at Lake Barrington, Tasmania.
