Rowing Australia Anti-doping Policy

RA is committed to the principals of anit-doping and the fundamental rationale for the World Anti-Doping Code (the Code) and FISA's anti-doping rules which states that:

"doping is fundamentally contrary to the spirit of sport, the principal of fair play, medical ethics and can be harmful for the health of the athletes."

This policy is adopted by RA consistent with its obligations to FISA and the Australian Olympic Committee to adopt and implement an anti-doping policy that conforms with the Code. In doing so RA commits to the purposes of the
World Anti-Doping Programme and the Code, namely:

* to protect the athletes’ fundamental right to participate in doping-free sport and
thus promote health, fairness and equality for athletes worldwide; and
* to ensure harmonised, coordinated and effective anti-doping programs at the international and national level with regard to detection, deterrence and prevention of doping.
