The Australian International Rowing Foundation was originally constituted to fund the attendance of Australian teams at international rowing regattas. However, in recent years, due to the financial support of the Federal Government, the Australian Olympic Committee, the ER Bromley Trust and the Bobby Pearce Foundation, the need for the Foundation to subsidise touring costs has become unnecessary.
In 2006, the RA Council resolved to amend the purpose of the Foundation to become the capital-acquiring entity of RA for equipment and services other than those covered by the Olympic Boat Fleet Trust, for example the development costs of the Rowing Online Management System (ROMS) and the regatta managment system, RP7.
The financial statements of the Trust are published each year as part of the RA annual report.
