Lourdes Hill College is a Good Samaritan Catholic Secondary College in Brisbane well respected for the pursuit of achievement and excellence in the education of young women.

Boatman – Part Time
This position is a member of our well established and respected Water Sports Team. The primary purpose of the role is the ongoing servicing of the facilities, equipment and customers within the College’s Water Sports Precinct.
This includes development and delivery of the annual equipment maintenance plan, boat allocation and booking systems, advice on the ongoing development of those systems, oversight of external contractors and quality customer service to support user groups (including transport).
We are looking for a team player, with relevant skills/qualifications in marine craft construction or repair, with a positive, professional disposition.

Sydney Rowing Club – Multiple Positions
Sydney Rowing Club is one of Australia’s leading and fastest growing rowing clubs. As part of the Club’s long term strategic plan we are offering the opportunity for rowing coaches to join our program to develop their skills and gain experience alongside our three full time professional coaches.
Scholarship Coach
This is a scholarship position which is supported by the Q.L.Deloitte Scholarship Program. This program supports the coach with mentoring by the Head Coaches, personal development in the form of coaching courses and rowing related qualifications, expenses including approved overseas travel for competition, domestic travel for competition and other rowing related expenses.
The purpose of this job is to:
- Assist the head coaches with the management and coaching of the club’s
- Development and Elite Development Squads.
- Assist the Junior Development Coach with some management and coaching of the club’s Junior Development Squad.
- To assist in athlete recruitment.
- To assist the Rowing Manager in organising regattas, camps and overseas events.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with and running on and off water training of the Development and Elite Development Squads.
- Assisting with the recruitment of Junior and Senior athletes as directed by the Head Coaches.
- Attending regattas and other events such as Nationals, Time Trials and testing days.
- Presenting a positive image of the club through a professional attitude and approach to all tasks.
- Taking on other rowing specific tasks as deemed appropriate by the Head Coaches and Rowing Manager.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess the following, or equivalent:
- Experience in rowing as a rower or coxswain
- A desire to develop a career in Coaching or Sports Management
- The ability to communicate and operate in a team environment
- A good attitude towards hard work
Intermediate Squad Coach
This is a Volunteer coaching position with Sydney Rowing Club for a person who in interested in working with a energetic group of intermediate rowers. This squad is in the sport of rowing because they love it - they want to race, want to train and want to have fun while doing it. The objectives for this squad include local events such as Ed Trickett Series.
This position provides opportunities such as guidance from the Head Coaches and Rowing Manager and some paid expenses including domestic travel for competition and other rowing related expenses. The ideal candidate must have plenty of coaching experience and should have some experience in managing squads, however will receive support from the club in the management side of things.
The purpose of this job is to:
- Manage the Intermediate squad with the support of the Rowing Manager.
- Provide on water coaching to the Intermediate squad.
- Coordinate any other volunteer and scholarship coaches who are working with the Intermediate Squad.
- Help to develop methods of athlete recruitment for the Intermediate Squad.
- To assist the Rowing Manager in organising regattas, camps and overseas events in which the Intermediate Squad are involved.
- To foster the atmosphere of enjoyment and inclusiveness in the squad.
Responsibilities will include:
- Day to day coaching of on and off water training of the Intermediate Squad.
- Helping with recruitment of athletes.
- Attending regattas and other events in which the squad is involved.
- Presenting a positive image of the club through a professional attitude and approach to all tasks.
- Enjoying the sport as much as the rowers do.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess the following, or equivalent:
- Motor boat licence
- NCAS Level 1 Coach Accreditation or higher
- Some experience in squad management
- The ability to communicate and operate in a team environment
- The right attitude to fit in with a squad who wants to enjoy the experience.

University of Queensland Boat Club – High Performance Coaching Staff (part time)
A fully affiliated club of the University of Queensland, UQBC has enjoyed great success, particularly in Junior and U23 categories, over the last decade. With the recent departure of the head-coach and recovery of the facility after the Brisbane flood in January, UQBC are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified high performance coaches on a part-time engagement commencing mid-August.
Core tasks associated with this role are the coaching, leadership, management and development of high performance squads in the Junior and Senior B categories. Success in the role will be measured by performance across the breadth of the high performance squads at state, national and international stage.
We are interested in hearing from experienced rowing coaches wanting to make a part time contribution at a high performance level. You will show evidence of demonstrated success in a relevant coaching role. Part of the role will involve travel to major Australian regattas (State, National, and National selection regattas, and the Australian University Games) which will be funded by UQBC.
Remuneration will be determined on the requirements of the role and of the successful applicant.
