National Audit of Adaptive Rowing |
Rowing Australia has recently conducted the Adaptive Rowing National Audit, which was developed to ascertain the levels of participation for adaptive rowing in Australia for the period 2007-2008.
To ensure the best possible results, the following target areas were the focus of the audit: the current levels of participation, how adaptive rowers are being sourced, current levels of competitive adaptive rowing available, current funding levels, what programs are available, how the coaches are being sourced and trained, what partnerships have been established between adaptive stakeholders, current levels of knowledge about classification procedures and what equipment is currently available to adaptive rowers in Australia. The audit was split into three target areas to get the full range of programs being conducted for adaptive rowing in Australia.
The three audited target segments were State Rowing Associations, Australian Rowing Clubs and identified Third Tier External non-rowing Sports Organisations. The audit outcomes report can be found at right. For information on the National Audit, please contact Matt Bialkowski at Rowing Australia, mbialkowski@rowingaustralia.com.au

Adaptive Rowing — Come 'n' Try Day Organisational Tool |
Rowing Australia has recently finalised a Come ‘n’ Try Day Organisational Tool for Adaptive Rowing. It has been designed for clubs and prospective organisers to use as a tool to assist with the organisation and planning of a come ‘n’ try day at a local club. The Tool includes a checklist on key areas of concern, registration form, medical information sheet and an example of a session roster and schedule.
Please find the Tool at right. If it is used in the organisation of a Come ‘n’ Try Day, Rowing Australia would request that results from the registration forms are sent to RA for entry into the National Adaptive Rowing database.
If you know of prospective organisers or clubs that are thinking of holding a Come ‘n’ Try Day and that can benefit from this Tool, please feel free to pass it onto them.
If you have any questions, queries or theories, please contact Matt Bialkowski at Rowing Australia. |
