Rowing Australia selects squads, crews and teams to attend the following international events:

• World Rowing Championships
• World Rowing Under 23 Championships
• World Rowing Junior Championships
• Rowing World Cups
• World University Games

The Australian Olympic Committee and Rowing Australia select the team to attend the Olympic Games held each quadrennium.
