Through a national network of state academies and institutes of sports, state rowing associations and clubs, RA administers targeted programs to ensure we are the world's leading rowing nation. These programs currently include:
Elite Development Program
A national program that identifies, manages and develops the young talent that will be the champions of the future. RA recognises that all of its program partners must be intrinsically involved to deliver a program.
This exciting program specifically:
- Targets the identification of talented young athletes, specifically in the Under 19 and Under 21 categories, from existing development programs and new talent programs.
- Targets management and further development of identified talented young athletes at state and club level.
- Clarifies the elite pathway for rowing success for both talented young athletes and their coaches.
Elite Club Funding
This national program provides funds for those clubs and centres developing elite athletes involved in the National Program.
This program allows RA to:
- Identify experienced and successful coaches who are not on the staff of RA, the AIS or SIS/SAS and are working with athletes who are part of the national program.
- Ensure retention within the national program and further develop those experienced coaches at state and club level resulting in better servicing of elite athletes.
- Provide development and clarification of the elite pathway for rowing success for coaches in Australia.
