Rowing Ergometers and Fixed versus Dynamic Rowing Ergometers
These two articles were written as discussion papers and were distributed to Rowing Australia’s Elite Coaches. The first article prompted much discussion and lead to the second article. They are designed to be read together.

Following the distribution of the first paper, quite a few questions were raised regarding the use of the Row Perfect ergometer, or putting the Concept II ergometer on sliders. This article explores what is currently published regarding fixed and dynamic rowing ergometers. Once again, there are some fundamental differences and their implications for injury risk are discussed.
